"For years, I've been intrigued by old Currier and Ives lithographs. In this painting I tried to capture the Americana sense of their subject matter while employing paint and brush instead of etching techniques. The stylized trees are more primitive than most of my work but their repeditive,circular forms gives me a sense of pleasant rhythmn--like the spokes of a turning wheel."
