From consumer electronics company Bang & Olufsen, the stylishly minimal Beoplay H4 headphones are wireless, enabling users to listen to music comfortably during whatever they’re doing. Designed by Copenhagen-based digital agency Spring/Summer, this site takes a typical product site and gives it a linear cinematic feel with lots of video and photo content. With a light layout reminiscent of the content’s southern California setting, the site features three lifestyle stories that demonstrate the Beoplay H4, highlighting its use by skateboarder Chase Robbins, artist Christina Angelina, and librarian, archivist and DJ Ben Lee Ritchie Handler.

A circular navigation system pairs with a horizontal scroll to distinctively set this product site from the rest. “Horizontal is dangerous,” says Pelle Martin, Spring/Summer partner and creative director. “But we did all we could to make it easy to navigate.” Each section of the site can be accessed from a navigation bar at the top of the screen, or by scrolling horizontally through the content; a small video cutscene both divides each section and ties them together. The fluid site also includes a social media activation, displaying Instagram images tagged with #h4unfiltered.
