“Washington, DC, has one of the most elaborate, multimodal transportation systems in the United States, with residents, commuters and visitors using motor vehicles, taxicabs, public transit, bicycles and the pedway network. However, traffic congestion and poor accessibility and travel time reliability affect these means of transportation. To inform citizens, commuters and stakeholders of the District Department of Transportation’s solutions to growing mobility challenges, we created a public website about mobility and transportation using geographic information system data visualizations.”
