“Two paintings from ISLANDS, my first solo exhibition in Los Angeles, at CMay Gallery. The 32 paintings and drawings in the show explored the places we escape or retreat to emotionally, spiritually or physically. These two large-scale paintings—ISLANDS, 90 × 60, and FEARS, 72 × 48—are list-based paintings, using words as building blocks to create graphic reinterpretations of a specific theme. I used ink and acrylic on wood panel.”
