“I took this portrait of Jay-Z back in 2007 at the Mulberry Street Bar in Little Italy, which has the classic New York mafia movie look and feel. Jay-Z himself was quiet and reserved. The dramatic lighting, toothpick, deadpan look and cat (Mr. Chips belonged to my retoucher) all made for a great moment.”
