With a collection that fits all shapes and sizes, Karla Colletto understands that most women dislike the process of trying on swimwear. Washington, DC, studio Design Army literally went underwater in the name of aquatic fashion. With a crew of two dozen, the studio filmed this short feature for Colletto’s latest swimwear line, giving women across America a beautiful introduction and and a close-up look at the detailing and stitching and the ability to witness its functionality firsthand.
The shoot began in the Florida Keys, with over 30 images for the new swimwear line; to film the models underwater wearing Colletto’s swimsuits, the team headed to Los Angeles, the land of swimming pools and movie stars. There, in a collaboration with Tamar Levine, the team shot hours of footage of models in classy-chic swimsuits, retro swim caps, and synchronized strokes. It was the ultimate high dive of creative direction, cutting-edge fashion and stunning swim choreography.
