Education: I received a master's degree in marketing in Poland and studied graphic communications in the United States.

Cultural influences: The Polish sea is like no other. Foamy, hot or cold, silver-gray and melancholic. It smells like the sea should smell: iodine plus warm sun. Nostalgia influences me the most.

Artistic influences: Georgia O'Keefe. I saw her originals in Atlanta, Georgia, during my first US visit and cried my eyes out. Her work is silent yet loud. I’m very interested in the work created by women.

First big break: While I've worked with some big names like Oprah, I think the biggest break was the one I gave myself—when I started feeling confident enough to take on commissions.

Work environment: I work from a studio at home, constantly tidying up my space and trying to find the best light.

Technique: Watercolor painting primarily on paper, wood and watercolor panels, I build sensual layers that result in an unexpected, organic shapes and undertones.

Philosophy: Combined with my own personal style, the unexpected, capricious nature of watercolor visually grabs the eye like no other medium. I’m mostly interested in contrast, sadness, runny colors, mistakes in drawing, tragedies and miracles. My work is sometimes uplifting, sometimes melancholic, somewhat or fully abstract, but always emotionally engaging—or so I hope.
