“The Maryland Film Festival (MdFF) is respected as a festival focused on people —both the ones who craft the films and the devoted fans—and this is reflected in many of our designs. For the 2014 MdFF campaign, we tweaked the festival’s motto, changing ‘Film for Everyone’ to ‘Film for Every Body’ to accompany our illustrated anatomy of a cinephile. In 2019, their 21st year, MdFF asked us to express just how big a deal this festival is and help them reach new audiences. The message was loud and clear: make it fun, big and open! We captured the mind-expanding menu of world-class films with a massive hand-drawn head illustration, layered with evocative vignettes that represent the transportive and perspective-altering qualities of the independent films MdFF screens every year.”
