For as long as I can remember I have taken extensive notes in class...primarily because I have the memory of a goldfish and visuals seem to help. Since I attend a lot of lectures and conferences, and my memory hasn't improved, I've seen no reason to stop. Bonus: Rereading Matteo's cheeky words of wisdom brings a smile to my face.
