“Illustration that appeared alongside the Modern Love column, which is published each Sunday in the New York Times Sunday Styles section and recently celebrated its fifteen-year anniversary. The first-person essays, written by various authors, are humorous, heartwarming, and at times heartbreaking stories about relationships, loss and love in all its varied forms. I have been illustrating the column for the last ten years. Dan Jones, the editor, sends me the essay on Saturday, and I’ll send sketches on Monday or Tuesday and final art—a combination of drawing, painting and digital finish—on Wednesday morning. The column has been overseen by wonderful art directors over the years: Corinne Myller, Barbara Richer, Rodrigo Honeywell and John Cohoe. It’s recently been developed into a television series and podcast.”
