"Outside magazine approached me to shoot photos to go along with a number of essays they were publishing on various phobias. They didn't really have anything specific in mind so my agent Julian and I went about brainstorming some ideas. Just as we were about to get off the phone, we landed on this idea of taking little dolls and putting them in real-life phobia situations.
