"Commissioned by Smart Money for a section opener on 'The Art of Picking Investments Wisely.' With this piece I gambled that a decent rendering would mitigate the obviousness of the concept. A well-worn cliché as a concept for an illustration can end up feeling stale if not done well, and it also runs the risk of duplicating an earlier illustrator's work. After image-searching on the web a bit and not finding anything similar, I decided to just go ahead and complete it and cross my fingers that I'm not inadvertently stepping on someone's creative toes."
