Duration: I've been illustrating independently since the Fall of 2011.
I work alone but I'm represented by Gerald & Cullen Rapp.
Education: I have my BFA in communication design from Kutztown University and an MFA in graphic & interactive design from Tyler School of Art.
Cultural Influences: Too many to list but here are a few folks and works that left a lasting impression: Illustrators Shag and Jack Kirby, Santa Cruz Skateboards artist Jim Phillips, Headcase Design, Genndy Tartakovsky, Andrew Wyeth, Johnny Quest, 2001: A Space Odyssey, The Graduate, Father Ted, Pavement, Ennio Morricone and MF Doom.
Environment: My studio is in a 130 year old house located in the middle of the rural and rustic south central Pennsylvania countryside. A terrier, countless sketchbooks and a dusty bass guitar are my only companions during working hours.
Philosophy: Seeing new work from my illustration students reminds me daily that devoted artists should never stop trying to get better. Trying new techniques and challenging yourself keeps you fresh and ultimately makes you stronger.
United Kingdom-based photographer Ryan Edy goes wherever the work takes him.
