“Killed cover for ESPN The Magazine’s Super Bowl issue. It was hectic, with a lot of back-and-forth with Eric, trying to hedge our bets about who was going to be in the Super Bowl. The original portrait was of Russell Wilson of the Seattle Seahawks, but then they lost, so I had to quickly edit the player to be Larry Fitzgerald of the Arizona Cardinals. It was fun to add the birds—very nonfootball, but it added a little something more than just two players running up the field.”
