“To highlight the star of Sotheby’s Contemporary Art sale, Jean-Michel Basquiat’s Untitled, 1982, we created a monumental promotional piece—a zine-inspired newspaper using 1980s type. Vending machines distributed the newspaper, which incorporated gritty, contextual photography for an expressive, raw and enticing effect. The Basquiat sold for $110.5 million—the highest amount paid at auction for a work by an American artist.” 40 pages, 17 × 22 3/4, 4-color on newsprint, folded, unbound.
