The redesigned vogue.com brings glamour to the computer screen. Its fresh look blends an automated feed and manual curation with specific areas set aside for dramatic visuals. Article pages and photo galleries accommodate an array of reading behaviors, from passive browsing and “snacking” on content, to digging deep into the Vogue archives. Overall, it’s a design system that encourages editorial creativity and allows the content—not the template—to determine the layout of a page. The Fashion Show section features an easy-to-navigate show directory and archive of every designer and season covered by Vogue. A transporter feature, which allows users to endlessly scroll from article to article within a selected category, allows for continuous, uninterrupted consumption. Technology was integrated throughout the entire process to migrate more than 17,000 articles and galleries into the new platform. The result is a clean design across every viewport, with a vast archive of fashion-forward content. Code and Theory collaborated closely with Condé Nast’s DevOps and platform teams throughout the project, ensuring a successful handoff.
