The Port Hunter restaurant identity was developed to honor a cargo ship of the same name that foundered and sank off Vineyard Sound in 1918. The logotype and oyster were hand-drawn, and sub-lines were custom typeset with the font Vinestreet. Together, they produce an aesthetic of old versus new. The Port Hunter logotype emulates the hand painted lettering on the bow of the vessel, the distressing is a byproduct and the overall concept is approachable and genuine.
